How to answer tell me about yourself and why should I hire

  1. Tell me about yourself

It seems like an easy interview question but its open ended. Here is how the question should be tackled for a successful interview.

Answer this question in terms of the skills and experience required for the position. Start with a brief summary of your career history. Then give them a short overview of how your career has developed, focusing more on what you’ve learnt or achieved.

It’s advisable to prepare by writing down a few key points you want to cover, which you can practice before the job interview.

Simply what the hiring manager really wants is a quick, two to three minute snapshot of who you are and why you are the best candidate for this position.

  1. Tell me about yourself does not mean that you tell everything concerning you.
  2. Use an example to back it up. Always point back to an example when you have it. Need a job?
